UZBEKISTAN STATE PATENT OFFICE FILING REQUREMENTS
I. Patent of Invention (list of necessary documents):
1. Necessary data concerning title of the invention, inventor(s), applicant(s), patentee(s), (name(s), address, and location);
2. Description of the Invention (original and amended if any). The Description should contain full bibliography related to the closest "prior art" and specify its drawbacks, which can be avoided using the invention. Translation of the Description into one of prescribed languages - Russian or Uzbek should be submitted within two months formal examination period;
3. Claims (original and amended if any);
4. Drawings (if any);
5. Abstract;
6. Copy of the bank remittance order as payment confirmation of the official filing fee to the Patent Office account;
7. Simply signed Power of Attorney executed by the applicant on behalf of Uzbekistan Registered Patent Attorney;
8. PCT forms (PCT/ISA/210, PCT/IPEA/409 and other);
9. If the Convention Priority is claimed, within tree months should be submitted:
· Copy of the first Application.
· Claims and Russian translation thereof.
Two months period is available for formal checking procedure (formal examination). Substantial Examination procedure is conducted under the Applicant's request which should be filed within 12 months from the filing date. Required official examination fee must be paid. Upon issuing of the patent granting decision, an official fee for granting, recording, publication and maintaining patent within first three years from the date of recording should be paid.
II. Patent of Design (list of necessary documents):
1. Request including necessary data concerning the author(s), applicant(s), patentee(s), (name(s), address, and location);
2. Picture or set of photos of the Design;
3. Drawing of the principal view of the device;
4. Description (original and amended if any);
5. Ergonomic diagram, assembly procedure (accessories), if necessary;
6. Copy of the bank remittance order as payment confirmation of the official filing fee to the Patent Office account;
7. Simply signed Power of Attorney executed by the applicant on behalf of Uzbekistan Registered Patent Attorney (and original P/A if necessary);
Two months period is available for formal checking procedure. Examination procedure is conducted under the Applicant's request which should be filed within 12 months from the filing date. Required official examination fee must be paid. Upon issuing of the patent granting decision, an official fee for granting, recording, publication and maintaining patent in force should be paid.

III. Trademark / Service mark Registration.
1. Full name, address and location of the applicant;
2. Twenty (15) black & white or colour prints (photographs) in original colour(s) 80x80 mm attached with necessary explanatory views (e.g. front view, side view);
3. Colour specification (colour or colour combination should be identified);
4. List of goods/services covered by the registration in accordance with the International Classification of Goods/Services sorted by Int. Classes;
5. Copy of the bank payment order (bank advice) confirming transfer of the official filing fee at the Patent Office account;
6. A Power of Attorney simply signed by the Applicant.
7. If the Convention Priority is claimed within six months from the date of filing the primary application:
· Notarised copy of the Primary Application (date, number and country a member of Paris Convention) and translation thereof should be submitted within three months from the filing date.
· Copy of the primary application (date, number and country a member of Paris Convention) should be submitted within three months of the filing date.
One months period available for formal checking procedure. Examination procedure is conducted within 12 months from the filing date. Required official registration fee must be paid.
Remarks:
All necessary documents should be submitted in Russian, Uzbek or English attached with their translation.
Payment of the official fees (VERY IMPORTANT):
* All required official fees should be paid in advance;
* In accordance with finance legislation of Uzbekistan official fees in hard currency (US dollars) should be paid directly by the Applicant or its foreign Agent. Any transactions in dollars on the territory of Uzbekistan for the local Patent Attorneys are prohibited.
* Please kindly note, that Uzbekistan Patent Office does not provide payment tracing services. The Applicant should confirm that required official fees have been paid. A copy of the bank remittance order, which should be sent by facsimile to the local Patent Attorney before filing date, is required. This payment document should specify the following: transferred amount in US$; beneficiary - UZ Patent Office; purpose of payment; Patent Office bank details; date of payment.
